Ask ARP: Can you recommend books on black/Latino relations?

Dear Anti-Racist Parent,

ask anti-racist parentI was wondering if you could recommend any books or essays that deal with black and Latino relations in the U.S.

I was having a conversation with my girlfriend (who is Latina) about the subject and we were somewhat saddened by the state of the relationships between the two communities, especially with the racial violence that is occurring in places like Chicago, L.A., and other places.

Specifically, one day (far away) we plan on raising mixed race Black/Latino children and would really like to create the best environment for them while also understanding how the tensions between the communities may effect our relationship as well.

I was doing some research on the net and came across this book: Black-Brown Relations and Stereotypes by Tatcho Mindiola, Jr., Yolanda Flores Niemann, and Nestor Rodriguez. But I was wondering if you knew of any other materials/books you could recommend for us to educate ourselves as a couple.
