My questions are: do you think racism, as we know it today, will become a rarity a generation from now? And do you find it odd how the article uses the phrases “…people who find themselves as Black..” or “..people who say they are Asian” or “Americans who identify themselves as Hispanics..” As a parent of a multi-racial child, why does the census bureau feel the need for a multi-racial individual, or any individual, to choose a race? They of all people should understand how the races in the US have blended together. Will they ever have “Multi-racial” as a category when they ask about ethnicity? Will there be a “choose as many as needed” option on the census form?
I first would like to commend the creator and moderator of this blog, as the topics are so poignant in today’s society.
I would also like to announce the launch of my blog entitled Balanced Melting Pot. The purpose of this forum is to have a place where people can “discuss the challenges and successes of growing up and raising children in a culture different than yours and/or that of your parents”.
The plan is that each week, I will post about an issue that I think will resonate with most people. I am very open to new ideas and suggestions for topics, so if you think of something, feel free to just shoot me an e-mail. I hope to pull from some of the interesting discussions that are going on here to enhance the information that I provide.
I also hope that you will visit frequently and tell everyone you know who may have in interest in this topic (simply forward this e-mail ). So please, pay me a visit at(http://balancedmeltingpot.wordpress.com/) and leave a comment.
Excellent site http://www.loveisntenough.com and I am really pleased to see you have what I am actually looking for here and this this post is exactly what I am interested in. It’s taken me literally 3 hours and 31 minutes of searching the web to find you (just kidding!) so I shall be pleased to become a regular visitor

I read this NY Times article about how the Census Bureau projects we’re only one generation away from where minorities will be the majority in the US.
