Best Life magazine looking for families with biracial children

Best Life magazine is currently casting for the photo shoot to illustrate an article about raising biracial children. Families must be able to travel to Manhattan this Saturday for a photo shoot. If your family is interested in participating, contact Jeanne at Best Life, (212) 808-1365 or jeanne.graves@rodale.com.

ARP reader Mike M. is the photographer for the shoot and as a “thank you” has offered to give an ARP family that participates a print of the best shot of their child.

Sounds interesting, I’ll be interested in seeing the full article. I hope the article gets to go beyond the white/black dynamic to other forms of biracial diversity.

    But JUST biracial? *sigh*

Bad enough biracial people rarely make the general demographic studies, but as I’m aware every time I fill out a form for my family, there’s no niche for the multiracial folk.

To which point, my snarky-ass reply is usually, “That’s OK, We’ll make more!”

  2. Liana says:

We went up for the shoot with our daughter and saw a diverse group of children there. It was a fun experience for our little one and the picture was beautiful.

I also learned more about the personal narrative that the photos will accompany. I can’t wait until February to see if Zara’s picture makes it in the magazine.
