This Sunday, Feb. 15, on my bi-weekly podcast, The Best of What Tami Said, I’m going to be discussing race and friendship, touching on a recent personal experience and the Miley Cyrus incident of last week. My guest will be Jennifer from the blog Mixed Race America (an occaisional commenter here, too).

I’d love to hear from someone with a parent’s perspective on the issue. For instance, how do you teach a child of color to stand up for herself when made to feel uncomfortable in a group where she is the “only?”

The show records live on Blog Talk Radio at 4 p.m. ET. Call (646) 716-4672 to participate. Listen live or participate in the chat room from the show page: http://www.blogtalkradio.com/What-Tami-Said/2009/02/15/The-Best-of-What-Tami-Said

Might be over talked about/written about by now, but this …http://www.afterellen.com/blog/jensabella/margaret-cho-writes-a-song-for-miley-cyrus was an interesting post that appeared today at afterellen.com. Here’s hoping that Cho does take the song national!
