    Life does not get better for him than being in the woods with a pointy stick! Or for me either…

    Great pic. It just struck me how few photos I see of people of color enjoying the outdoors (unless it’s a Ralph Lauren ad!). My brothers used to spend a lot of time climbing trees when they were kids.

    My son is fortunate in that we have a great family friend that takes him out every weekend for 4+ hours mostly in the woods exploring – we live near a large half wild park. His school also takes him to a ravine each week for the afternoon and we spend time outdoors in the weekend too very often…in other words, this kid loves the wilderness!! Just like I did as a kid even though we live in the middle of a big city.

    in some ways, he makes me want to be a kid again – when I had time to climb trees and think and poke around with a pointy twig :-)
