This week’s photo comes from reader Kathy C. She writes: “This is my beautiful Haitian daughter Myrlanda. She is a miracle girl- born weighing one and a half lbs and thrown in a fire, having third degree burns, she was believed to be unadoptable, and that she wouldn’t survive. When I flew to Haiti to pick her up, she weighed 12 lbs and was 2 years old, couldn’t even sit up or chew. Today my beautiful girl is six years old and reminds me of the power of love, and the joy of life.”

What a gorgeous child and a wonderful story. Congratulations to both of you!
Your story about this little survivor brought me to tears, and I am still blury. You are a beautiful person for adopting her, and she is a strong, beautiful little being for being so brave. You are both heroes, and of course, anyone else involved in her life that loves her unconditionally. Signing off with tears of happiness and true awe flowing.
She is precious…:)
