Hello LIE readers! During the last few years of frequent commenting and very occasional contributing, I’ve grown to greatly value this space and the readers who come here. I’m honored to take on co-editing responsibilities here at Love Isn’t Enough.
I am the proud mother of a beautiful son (almost 3 years old) adopted from Ethiopia in 2008. As the white mother of a black son, I find myself always wanting to learn more: about how to parent him in a way that serves him best in our colorstruck world, about what his experience may be as a black child, then a black teenager, then a black man in this country; about what his experience may be as a transracially adopted child living far from the culture, people, and nation he once knew as home. These questions shape much of what I write and read, and what I hope to share with you here. I look forward to our conversations.
