I’m afraid this site is becoming less about all parents, White and parents of color, figuring out how to raise kids of color to love themselves and grow up as whole human beings despite the shitty messages society sends about them and people of color in general and becoming more a place where Whites try to get “cookies” and comfort via confessing their troublesome pasts and current thoughts and by showing that they’re “not like those other Whites.” Basically, they’re starting to treat this site as though it were Mammy to their Miss Scarlet.
I would love to see more of a return to issues like interracial adoption and facing that this is no where near a “post-racial” society and that we have to bring up our very raced kids in it than to read another “Lookit me being White with cullud folk in my family” testimonial.
